TYPES OF MEMBERSHIP

Full Club Members (Limit 12 Members)

 

This is our highest level of membership.  Full Club Members enjoy all the usuall benefits of membership and are the only members who are allowed to reserve club keelboat for private use.  You'll also get an additional 2 free keelboat lessons.

Entry Fee:  300,000 Won

Annual Dues:  900,000 Won

 

 

Dinghy Club Members (Limit 18 Members)

 

These  members enjoy all the usuall benefits of membership, but are not allowed to privately take out keelboats.  Dinghy Club Members can use the clubs smaller boats anytime, and will have plenty of opportunities to crew on larger boats as well.

 

Entry Fee:  200,000 Won

Annual Dues:  600,000 Won

 

 

Dinghy Monthly Members (Limit 12 Members)

Like Dinghy Club Members, the Dinghy Monthly Members are allowed to use the clubs smaller boats anytime.  The only difference is that they pay month to month.  An ideal choice for those of you who are here for only a short time.

 

Entry Fee:  200,000 Won

Monthly Dues:  150,000 Won

 

 

Boat Owner Membership

 

For those of you who own boats but still want to join the club.  While you don't get to use club boats, you will get to meet a lot of great people and even find some competant crew.

 

Entry Fee:  None

Annual Dues:  300,000 Won

 

 

IINSURANCE CO-OP

 

All members are required to join the insurance co-op.  Because it is impossible to get damage insurance for recreational club vessles in Korea, we have started our own co-op to help give our members some peace of mind.

 

As a member of the co-op, you will be covered for up to 1,000,000 won damage to any boats or property while in charge of a club boat.  This co-op does not cover injuries. 

 

Contribution amount for Dinghy members: 100,000 won

Contribution amount for full members:  200,000 won

 

This is a one time contribution.  Any member who uses the limit will be required to pay an additional 100,000 to re-enter the co-op.

 

 

DISCOUNTS

 

Out-of-Town Discount - For those of you who live at least 50 km from the Busan City limits will get 30% off any annual membership entry fee and annual dues..

 

Family Discount - For those of you who are married, and you both want to join, we offer the a discount of 50% for the spouse on any membership entry fee, dues and lesson fees.  It used to be called the Spouse discount, but I recently allowed a father-son team to join under the same discount.

 

*Only one discount can be used at anytime

 

 

WARNINGS

.

Refunds - Once your membership starts, there are NO refunds.  Absolutely none so please don't ask.

 

Swimming - You must know how to swim before joining our club.  I know this seems like a no-brainer, but, believe it or not, I have been asked.

 

Age Limit - You must be at least 18 (international age) to join the club unless joining with a parent or guardian in which case you must be at least 14 (international age).

 

 

Payment Plan

 

A payment plan can be arranged over a period of 3 months.  There is a 10% fee for financing.

 

 

 

HOW TO JOIN

1.  Read over the different types of membership and choose one that is right for you.

2.  Contact Mark Chi at markchi@busansailing.com or 010-2858-9470 to see if space is available.

3.  Send in your entry fee and annual due or first months dues to:

Or stop by in person and pay in cash.  No credit cards please.

 

If you've made payment arrangements then send the amount worked out previously with Mark. 

 

4.  Contact Mark again and let him know you've sent payment.

That's it!  You're now a member.
